Overview:

The EB4 employment-based visa petition includes several categories of persons, from religious workers to those persons seeking to require citizenship. EB4: Fourth employment based preference green card

As part of the visa process for a religious worker, evidence must be provided to show that the person has, for at least the past 2 years immediately preceding the time of the application, been a members of a an organization in the U.S. of a bona fide, nonprofit, religious denomination.

The appropriate regulations require that a religious denomination have the following characteristics:

(1) Some form of ecclesiastical government;
(2) A recognized creed and form of worship;
(3) A formal code of doctrine and discipline;
(4) Religious services and ceremonies;
(5) Established places of religious worship; and
(6) Religious congregations; or

(7) Comparable indicia of a bona fide religious denomination.
